Spotlight: Alex Trebek on Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

November 5, 2019

Alex Trebek encourages us all to get informed and involved during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and Alex Trebek has a special message encouraging all of us to get involved in raising awareness and support for pancreatic cancer.

As of this year, pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer related death in Canada with a mortality rate of 92%. It is imperative to raise awareness of the symptoms and risk factors for this disease so it can be diagnosed quicker and more lives can be saved.

So this November we need your help. There are many ways you can participate, share potentially life-saving knowledge, and connect with a community of others at home and around the world to demand better for pancreatic cancer patients and their loved ones. Visit our World Pancreatic Cancer Day webpage to learn more. As Alex says, "Together we can get it done."

Pancreatic Cancer Canada is a founding member of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition and we are grateful to Alex Trebek for his efforts in shedding much-needed light on this deadly disease, amidst his own fight with pancreatic cancer.
